Children are allowed to climb on the many walls of the weir under adult supervision! The weir is also a nice change for the little ones!
The stamp box is attached to the side of the refuge (Morgenbrodshütte)!

Down and up a hammer away several small resting points, which you need too.
Absolutely sure-footed footwear and attention in the wet.
Still to mention the sesame stone. 👌⛰️😎

Easy way to the Great Weir: From the Sperberhaier Dammhaus via the Morgenbrodtsthaler Graben.
Difficult way: Via the car park Stieglitzecke and descent to the side of the Hammersteinklippe.

From Sperberhaier Dammhaus a simple and idyllic way. There and back about 8 km and hardly any altitude.

The Harzer hiking needle is a general highlight in the Harz. If you like to walk, this is just the right job.

From the Stieglitzecke car park, a challenging path that requires a certain level of fitness, surefootedness and good footwear, but is a great experience.

A beautiful path on Morgenbrodstaler Graben leads to the Great Weir. Here is the stamp office 146 of the Harzer hiking nobility. A seating group invites you to rest.

The shortest path leads from the Stieglitzecke over the Hammersteinklippe very steep and impassable on Sösestein over directly to the Great Weir.

Steep descent, not without, but very primitive. On the way back over Hammersteinklippe is interesting.
