Ruin of an old pumping station. To reach via steps.
Since it is not kept instant you should be careful when walking.

The way to the ruin is now closed. Don't try to enter through the broken wire fence, as there is a motion triggered alarm inside. I found this out the hard way.

An old ruin right on the sea

Directly on the cliff stands the house, which leads down to a brick zigzag staircase. From the top, the walls look like they are the remains of an old maritime church. In reality, however, this is an industrial ruin. More precisely, the building belongs to the first water pump station in Tenerife. This is still good to recognize that some pipes pull up the slope.

The ruin Casa Hamilton - La Gordejuela was built in 1905 by the English family Hamilton, which was revolutionary at the time, because previously the precious water of the numerous springs had been allowed to flow freely into the sea. Thanks to the conveyor system, it was then possible to supply the surrounding regions with water.

The way to the waterworks is easier than expected ... unfortunately you do not quite get there, but it is led past it.

The first steam engine in Tenerife stood in this building.

It is worth sturdy shoes, a good endurance and food, if you want to create the whole way. Otherwise a really impressive landscape!

Interesting structure, drawn by time and salt water.

You can no longer come down to the Casa, it is completely cordoned off. Unless you can climb very well. You can only look down from above.

Great lost place, but you have to be careful because of the dilapidation!
