Description of the monumentAt the instigation of the Löhne Warrior Association, the memorial with the names of 103 dead was erected in 1920. Financing was particularly difficult at a time of economic hardship. However, the costs of the construction could be borne by "voluntary donations". In addition, many parishioners helped with the ground work. The war memorial originally stood in the oldest cemetery in the municipality in the middle of the village. When this had to give way to the expansion of the district road in 1938, the relocation of the monument to its current location became necessary. The church of Löhne-Ort had stood there until 1844, which was then torn down and replaced by the current one.
