Pedro IV Square, better known by its old name Rossio, is a square located in the Baixa, the nerve center of Lisbon for several centuries. Trials, shows, festivals, military parades and autos de fe took place there during the Inquisition.

The Rossio is a central and at the same time important place. From here you can start many tours to visit Lisbon - both in the Baixa itself and in the Alfama or via the Elevador make the ascent to the Upper Town. Or if you like, you can also take the Tram 15 to Belém from here.

We were there at the end of May. At the time, the rosewood trees are blooming here and transform the square into a beautiful purple sea of flowers😃
