On the promenade of the borough of Borby the city Eckernförde stands the monument, Frederick William the Great, which is reminiscent of the Great Elector. Originally the 1913 donated by Emperor Wilhelm II monument in Pillau (now Baltijsk), where it had been, in honor of the Brandenburg Navy, also at the port. During the Second World War, it was to be melted down during the exploitation of materials in Hamburg, which did not happen. When Eckernförde became the patron saint of Baltijsk in 1955, the monument came to Borby, and the monument is noted: Until the return home.

On the Borbyer promenade you get a completely new view of the Eckernförde harbor.
In the past, the city fathers neglected this part a bit, but now it has become really nice.

From the Borbyer Ufer you can experience the Eckernförder harbor scene very well. Along the art mile you can see sea creatures carved in stone, the great prince electors and various wonderfully crafted works of art.
