Magnificent view of the dam. Especially in connection with the evening sun a nice photo motif. The Rauschenbach dam is a dam in the Free State of Saxony. The dammed waters are the Flöha and the Wernsbach. It was built from 1960 to 1968 in the upper Flöhatal near Cämmerswalde for drinking water supply. The water is channeled through the Freiberg watercourse to the Middle Ore Mountains dam system; further transitions lead it to Chemnitz, Dresden and Freiberg. The backwater of the Flöha (Czech: Fláje) extends into the adjacent area of the municipality Český Jiřetín (Georgendorf) in the Czech Republic. The total storage area is 114.58 ha, of which 99.43 ha is on the German and 15.15 ha on the Czech side.Source: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talsperre_Rauschenbach
