The Toppler Castle was the retreat of the great mayor of Rothenburg, Heinrich Toppler, who was at the helm of Rothenburg at the end of the 14th century. Through his excellent relations in the highest circles of imperial politics, he was able to achieve great advantages for Rothenburg. He had a particularly close relationship with the Roman-German King Wenzel, whom he allegedly housed here in the Toppler Castle.

The Toppler Castle itself was closed.
But you could through a door on which a sign hangs open, through a garden of the family Boas (the somewhat run-down house in front of derm Toppler castle right on the road) to the Toppler castle run.
