The Klappermühlchen is a miniature mill house in Alzenauer Stadtwald. It has a small water wheel, which is operated by the water power of the ditch. Part of its water is bundled over an artificially created channel and directed to the mill wheel. This then turns a disk, which is occupied with dwarf figures. The dwarfs walk through a window in the interior of the house. With the help of this disc four tiny hammers are moved, which hit two different metal plates. Due to their different length and strength, each tone produces a different tone. The "rattling" of the mill can be heard from several hundred meters away. The mill house was built in 1913 and today is maintained honorary. The area around the Klappermühlchen is fenced and must not be entered.

Great surprise! We passed a round at Klappermühlchen. It's great that you just find something in the middle of the forest. It's fun to watch for a moment before taking the beautiful trails through the forest.
