The name "beggar woman" is said to come from a legend:
A beggar woman is said to have chased after the pilgrims from Oberharmersbach who came over the pass and wanted to go to Maria Einsiedeln in Switzerland. The spirit found its rest, however, when a man once had mass said for her in the sanctuary.
However, another legend tells that it was a woman who froze to death here in winter.October 31, 2020
