Bike Touring Highlight
The path over the Marschdammweg is left to pedestrians and cyclists. Here you can drive freely from the car traffic through the marshes. But if you want to see the Elbe, take the Kraueler main dike. This is also a road, but on the bike path you can drive well. Both routes are excellent.

The approximately 33 km long Marschbahndamm is today a popular cycling and hiking trail through the meadows and fields of the Vier- and Marschlande. The former section of the Kleinbahn was opened in 1921 with a first section, with the route from the branch of the main line of Bergedorf-Geesthachter railway on Teufelsort to the branch of coming from Bergedorf already built in 1912 route south to the terminus Zollenspieker.
The further sections followed then until 1927 the last section of the route over Fünfhausen, Ochsenwerder, Tatenburg until Moorfleet was finished.
Already in 1952, the rail traffic was stopped and the tracks are almost completely removed. Today the Marschenbahndamm is almost completely tarred and an ideal cycle path.
The old stations have become partly rest stops or privately owned.vierlanden.de/pages/83-marschbahndamm
