Great open-air stage and great performance

Up from Kalkberg you have a great view over Bad Segeberg and the surrounding area. Downstairs is the open-air stage of the Karl May Festival and the Kalkberg caves with the bats, which you can visit guided.

Is worth a visit!
The view in good weather is fantastic.
And it is the only rock mountain in the big circle! The next one should be in the Harz ☺️
By the anhydrite or gypsum mining, from which the mountain actually exists, he lost his former height of about 110m and 9/10 of its mass.

From the top you have fantastic views of the city and the surrounding countryside. It is very impressive and worth seeing - which may be worth the effort for some.

The ascent is not without - the steps, if any, are extremely "close to nature". But the view over the lake, the city and the landscape makes you forget the time.
