Bike Touring Highlight
The Bode Museum, opened in 1904 as the Kaiser Friedrich Museum, is part of the ensemble of the Museum Island in Berlin and thus a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It houses the Sculpture Collection and Museum of Byzantine Art and the Coin Cabinet. On October 17, 2006, it was reopened after nearly six years of renovation and handed over to the public on October 19 of the same year.

The Bode Museum in the Mitte district of Berlin is part of the building ensemble on Museum Island and thus a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built by Ernst von Ihne in neo-baroque style as Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum on behalf of Kaiser Wilhelm II. 1898–1904, it currently houses the sculpture collection and the Museum of Byzantine Art as well as the coin cabinet.  On the forecourt was an equestrian statue of Friedrich III created by Rudolf Maison, which was destroyed during the GDR era.In 2019 the Bode Museum recorded around 260,000 visitors.
