1.5 km south of Zell there is the "Beinter Kopf", a slate rock that extends far into the Altlayerbach valley. There are remains of a building that was apparently a Roman temple. The foundations of the "Cella" with a quadrangular floor plan of approx. 7.2 m x 8.0 m side length are still shown on the site. Numerous small finds typical of a Roman cultural site were later recovered from the associated cultural strata, which had been moved from the plateau area of the northern tip to the south-east slope. In addition to ceramic shards and many coins, there were also several brooches and fragments of terracottas. A small Roman depot was also discovered on the northwest side of the slate spur in the area of a rock terrace hewn out of stone. It received various iron tools and equipment, including a ploughshare and a fully preserved rapid scale. (Text copied from user "KISS", who also set this as a hiking highlight.

From the Beinter Kopf you come directly into a single trail of the circular route "Briedeler Schweiz". I recommend turning right as a descent, because on the left the circular trail goes up a mega part. It is advisable to go up to the Sündkapelle afterwards and then to take the mega-steep descent towards the Moselle valley, which then ends here at the Beinter Kopf. A small single trail from the Beinter Kopf towards Heinzenberg is also great.

A great view of the Moselle valley - if you have come here without a fall -
Kamikaze trail down - the rest is a breeze.
