Bike Touring Highlight
On the road between Buchholz and Klecken you come across stone witnesses to the past - the megalithic grave in the Kleckerwald.
The freely accessible barrow dates from the Neolithic Age. It is about 5200 years old!
The tomb is 48 meters long and six meters wide. Exactly 76 upright stones surround the former burial mound. The grave was restored in its present form around 120 years ago by the forester at the time. Even then, bones or grave goods of those buried in the megalithic tomb were no longer to be found. A special forest service has been held here every year on Whit Monday since 1929.

When you have arrived at the Hünengrab in the Kleckerwald, it is only downhill ;-) I use this spot to shop around on my laps.
Occasionally, events such as open air services and the like take place here. A model of the megalithic grave is also in the Helms Museum in Harburg.
