The Nerobergbahn is a built in 1888 water load and Zahnstangenstandseilbahn in the north of Wiesbaden. It leads from the Nerotal to the Neroberg, overcoming a height difference of 83 m over a length of 438 m and an average gradient of 19%. As the last mountain railway of this type in Germany the Nerobergbahn is today a technical cultural monument after the Hessian monument protection law. The Nerobergbahn is operated and maintained today by the ESWE Verkehrsgesellschaft. The Nerobergbahn is used annually by more than 250,000 passengers, of which about 80 percent are tourists.

It should be mentioned that all this goes without mechanical power of equip. The only thing needed here is water. So the railway on the Neroberg is filled with water that is pumped up from the valley station. Do upper course then pulls the lower course up the mountain. If you're lucky, you can ride on the box with the driver.
