The Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum is an industrial monument and cultural highlight in one. It is an anchor point on the Route of Industrial Heritage and venue for events such as concerts, theater and shows. With the Ruhrtriennale, the Jahrhunderthalle houses the most important cultural festival in the Ruhrgebiet.

As a prime example of the structural change in the Ruhr area, the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum stands for the new understanding of culture in the Ruhr Metropolis. It is the center of the festival ground Ruhr, landmark of Bochum and dares the border crossing between tradition and modernity.

an old industrial hall that has become the venue of theaters and musical performances today, surrounded by a large park, which used to be green and then became gray and brown for industrialization, is today once again an oasis of relaxation.

A great location, we got a lot of information in the visitor center. The gastronomy is open on 7 days and is more of an artist and crew canteen. So cheap, but delicious food. The food is honestly prepared, no finished products.

The tour was great, we did not realize what many different types of events take place there. We will go there more often.

The Jahrhunderthalle Bochum is the center of the new Bochum Westpark. The Centennial Hall is one of the anchor points of the Route of Industrial Heritage, here also the Erzbahntrasse begins to Emscher to Gelsenkirchen.

The Jahrhunderthalle was built in 1902 by the Bochum association for the Düsseldorf industrial and trade exhibition in Duisburg and then shipped to Bochum and reused as a blower machine hall for the blast furnaces of the Bochum club. (Free to Wikipedia)
For cyclists, the Jahrhunderthalle as a meeting and orientation point is very interesting, as here popular cycle paths such as the Erzbahntrasse, West Park Park and also meet sometime the RS1.
