Guilvinec-Léchiagat est le 3e port de pêche français, Boulogne-sur-Mer et Lorient derrière, tonnage qu'en valeur du poisson débarqué (baudroie, raie, merlan, cabillaud, langoustine), mais le premier port français de pêche artisanale. Ses 125 bateaux (70 hauturiers, 40 côtiers et 15 fileyeurs) font travailler 570 marins.
The port of Le Guilvinec is one of the main fishing ports of Brittany. It is worthwhile to visit the visitor's terrace with a view over the harbor, to observe the arrival of the cutters and the unloading of the catch in the afternoon.

The fishing port of Guilvinec stands for the small traditional fishing that is still practiced in Brittany today. Here fish can be purchased directly from the cutter when the fishermen return to the port. The fish are later processed in the nearby fish factory in the classic Breton way.
