Bike Touring Highlight
The Kennedy Bridge was originally built as the New Lombards Bridge in 1952-1953, as the old Lombards Bridge to the south could no longer cope with the increased traffic on the roads. It is the first prestressed concrete bridge in Hamburg.
In 1966, the bridge was renamed Kennedy Bridge in honor of John F. Kennedy, after his assassination in 1963 in Dallas, Texas. On it you can walk or drive for a while on the 10th eastern longitude - it is characterized by a brass strip embedded in the footpath.
The Kennedy Bridge is 94.20 meters long and 27.02 meters wide.
