Fahrradhighway entlang des Baldeneysees

Absolutely great and consistently concrete or tarred route in good condition. Depending on the time of day and the weather, you can heat up here with a racing bike on an almost flat route with great views in the green. A bell is advisable on weekends. At the Hausscheppen two-wheel meeting point that you pass, you can also strengthen yourself. This section is definitely one of my favorite places in Essen and well worth a visit. 🙂

If you don't drive at rush hour it is beautiful, otherwise it is more of a play street than a highway. When open again, the little refreshments at the motorcycle meeting halfway are highly recommended.

The bike and footpath around the lake has good asphalt. At the weekend and from the late afternoon on, however, special care is required, as there are not only cyclists but also pedestrians and skaters.

It can get crowded here on sunny weekends. But it doesn’t change the fact that you’re on perfect asphalt on the shores of Lake Baldeney

On weekends and public holidays when the weather is good, it is more suitable for cyclists - it is better to set a leisurely pace on a racing bike and catch your breath
