Good wide bike path that makes the crossing of the Rhine easy.

Can be used on both sides, which then provide a variety of access and departure routes for a change.

A good way to cross the Rhine .... if all Pappnasen the right side, so in the direction of travel would use the right side!

If no ferry wants to be used to cross the Rhine, this bridge is just good enough!

The Fleher Bridge was opened in 1979 and has the highest bridge pylon in Germany with a height of 146.47 m and the largest span of all cable-stayed bridges in Germany with a main opening of 368 m. At the time of its completion, it was even the furthest single-span cable-stayed bridge in the world.

The Rhine bridge Düsseldorf-Flehe (A46) connects Dusseldorf - Neuss over the beautiful Rhine. The gigantic cable-stayed bridge has a length of fabulous 1166 m. More than 85,000 vehicles cross this bridge daily. Even pedestrians as well as cyclists can cross the bridge.

The Fleher bridge offers a good connection over the Rhine.
A round trip over the Kardinal-Frings-Bridge is recommended!

Great way above and below the bridge. I was thrilled, because you know the bridge yes and otherwise always with the car over it. The size made up hats and I found it really great to look at this building "from all sides".

I was really excited to explore the bridge from all sides. You know them from the car - but that's really an experience

The Fleher bridge, also Rhine bridge Dusseldorf-Flehe, between Dusseldorf and Neuss is a motorway bridge (with pedestrian and bicycle lanes parallel to the carriageways) over the Rhine, the A 46 from the left bank of the Rhine region (Rhein-Kreis Neuss, Aachen region, Heinsberg district , Belgium, Netherlands) with the Bergische Land (Wuppertal, Solingen, Hagen) and the south of Düsseldorf. It also forms the southern part of the Dusseldorf motorway quadrangle and is named after the district of Flehe the city.
The structure has three lanes and one hard shoulder per direction of travel and on both sides a 2.75 m wide footpath and cycle path. The bridge does not cross the Rhine at right angles to protect the water catchment area of the old Flehe waterworks.
The Fleher bridge has the highest bridge pylon in Germany and the largest span of all cable-stayed bridges in Germany. At the time of its completion, with a main span of 368 m, it was the world's longest stretched single-span cable-stayed bridge. Source: Wikipedia

The trip over the Fleher bridge is recommended and a great highlight, but I also recommend to drive under the bridge - because even there the view is something different and impressive. From there you can also drive well along the Rhine.

Since you come back from the "wrong side", even if no ferry leaves.

Alternative to the ferry, if you go anyway, in this direction. I was amazed how fast you are from Dormagen in Dusseldorf.

If the "fun ferry" does not run again, you just have to cross the bridge. For bikers easy to reach and run over.
