Unfortunately, the name of the highlight is not quite correct. In the actual sense, the tree on the market square in Storkow is a peace oak that was planted as a memorial tree to commemorate a won war and the peace that followed. This specimen was planted to commemorate the end of the Napoleonic Wars in 1814 and a plaque was placed on a stone on the west side. The plaque for the victims of the two world wars was laid under the Peace Oak in 2018. It is on the ground behind the oak tree and is supposed to be practically invisible because of the bench surrounding the tree, which was probably not the case here 😊.
