The Hohentorspark was created in 1951/52 as the first large green area after the war on this wasteland in the style of the time. The park with its central sunken garden and the large herbaceous beds was a meeting point, playground and leisure center for the population in a very destroyed area at the time.
The parks decayed over time, the paths were ailing, the entrance areas overgrown. A fundamental renovation took place in 2012. Two historical sculptures from 1890, the reaper and the hop brewer, now came more clearly to the entrance area. The wall of war wreckage surrounding the sunken garden was largely restored to its original condition during the repair.

Beautifully landscaped park with lots of benches to linger. Due to the proximity to the B75, sometimes disturbing traffic noise.
