  • Ein 🐟 namens Wander

    It is a natural monument.
There is - which is not often seen on rocks in the area - a sign specially placed on which bouldering and climbing is prohibited.
PS: I think the "camel rock" on Rodalber Felsenweg is much more like a camel than this one

The camel head near Altleiningen is a rock made of red sandstone. It is surrounded by smaller rocks at a height of 375 m above sea level. NN on the Kupferberg in the Palatinate Forest. The name of the approximately six meter high rock is the conspicuous camel head shape pointing to the northeast. The formation, which is divided into numerous layers, contains the pebbly quartz inclusions typical of the Lower Buntsandstein. Hikers can reach the Kamelkopf from the parking lot on Höninger Hauptstrasse in half an hour.

Striking sandstone formation on the Kupferbergfelsen, such as the “Kamelkopf” here - a very beautiful section on the Leininger Burgenweg

At the Kamelkopf there is a path, a beautiful quiet view and for those who like it steep: there is also a descent to the Langenbachtal hiking car park

Rocky rock climbing, with a child of 7 years, but worth it. A nice resting spot.
