Hiking Highlight
For the first time a bridge was built in Hohenfichte at the former ford through the Flöha in 1602. Repeatedly repaired over the many years, it is still standing today - as can be seen on the adjacent picture. A little more than 50 meters long, it crosses the river at a height of 5 meters and is covered with thick planks.Crossing is fun on foot as there are elevated pedestrian walkways on both sides, and on the walls there are information boards explaining the structure and history of the bridge. Another such wooden bridge is located in Hennersdorf. Nearby attractions include the castle Augustusburg, the Hetzdorfer Viaduct with the Hetzdorf Bastei and the Klein-Erzgebirge in Oederan.
