Bike Touring Highlight
The fishing town is a medieval settlement center of the East Westphalian city of Minden and lies on the left bank of the Weser. The city wall was only drawn around the suburb in the 16th century. The fishing town was later included in the defense system of the Minden fortress and was protected against the Weser and the hinterland with a fortress wall. Today there is only the former fortress wall to the Weser, built in 1830, with slits for rifle and cannon defense.
