On November 4, 1918, an accident occurred on the railway between Völklingen and Bous, in which 16 people tragically died. A burnt gas canister had probably set fire to the fourth-class railcar, which was entirely lined with wood, and the burned bodies were buried in the Bouser cemetery. The railway had a monument erected, in which shots from the war can still be seen today.
