The rose garden in Planten un Blomen was created in the so-called "classic style". Around 300 different types of roses were planted here, including historic roses, park and wild roses, climbing roses or tea hybrids. Various arches and sitting areas complete the ensemble. The focus is on a pavilion, where you can get information about different types of roses and their care during the summer season.hamburg-tourism.de/sehen-erleben/gruenes-hamburg/parks-gruenanlagen/planten-un-blomen

The rose garden with an area of around 5,000 m² has been part of Planten un Blomen since 1993. It was built in the so-called "classic style". Around 300 different types of roses were planted in the rose garden, including historical roses, park and wild roses, climbing roses or tea hybrids. The planting was supplemented by perennials, summer flowers and various small trees.Numerous rose arches and sitting areas complete the ensemble. At the center of the rose garden is a pavilion, where you can get information about different types of roses and their care during the summer season. Classical music can be heard here every summer. In 2004 there were violent protests by citizens of Hamburg, including Hannelore Schmidt, when it became known that part of the Rose Garden was to be abandoned as part of the expansion of the CCH. A compromise partially prevented this. The part of the park that is now called the Rose Garden is not the original part of the park under this name. The original rose garden in Planten un Blomen was created for the Low German Garden Show in 1935. When the new rose garden was created in the early 1990s, the original rose garden was renamed Bürgergarten.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planten_un_Blomen

The flowers in the rose garden should be seen and enjoyed. With all your senses. 🤩 It only took me over half a century. 😉
