"The south-westerly harbor of the Baltic Sea is also one of the smallest, but there are two yacht clubs, a shipyard and, of course, the fishing fleet, which moored every morning after work on the quay walls of the port But also above the quay walls, there is a lot to discover: in addition to the small fish market artisans attract as well as small restaurants and cozy cafés, and every few weeks harbors, concerts and events set up their tents and make for a lot of mood.Niendorf does not just mean harbor, cutter and Baltic fish. Niendorf is also a ellenlong Baltic beach with fine-grained sand, where families feel right at home. A paradise for children, which invites you to romp and play in the water and riding ashore. Old and young can relax in the beach chairs and enjoy the view of the Baltic Sea. In summer, Niendorf is a beach paradise on the Baltic Sea, a place of leisure and respite before and after. For a change in the Baltic Sea holiday with us throughout the year is taken care of, including in the bird park Niendorf - a joy for the whole family. The hotels, guesthouses and apartments in Niendorf are right by the sea or right next to it. The restaurants offer the freshly caught fish of the Niendorf fishermen and invite you to enjoy! Niendorf port
In a Baltic Sea resort, a port is part of the natural appearance. In Timmendorfer Strand this is in the Niendorf district. Although the port is one of the smallest on the German Baltic Sea coast, it is also one of the most beautiful and therefore worth a visit.
Since the end of World War II, the port of Niendorf has been repeatedly expanded and renewed. In 1948 a harbor basin of the Niendorfer Yacht Club was added, in the 1990s one of the sailing club Niendorf / Ostsee with the associated club house, in between the inner harbor basin was enlarged several times. In 2005 there was a major port renovation. After mainly fishing boats used to be here, today you mainly see sports boats. Numerous gastronomic facilities make the port a popular starting point for tourists who occasionally get lost in the port pottery and the studio of the painter Reinhold Liebe.timmendorferstrand-travel.de/Regionales/Timmendorfer-Strand-Sehenswuerdigkeiten-Highlights/Niendorfer-Hafen

The Niendorf harbor offers itself to strengthen. Especially for fish lovers, the gastronomy of "Clüver" offers. Is for hikers nice and easy, as self-service. In addition to delicious fish sandwiches and fish dishes, there is also delicious red beer from the barrel.

Here at the harbor, it can be wonderful chilling. In the morning, the fishermen sell their catch.

There is a viewing platform on the roof of the fishing and port information center, from which one has the best views of the port. Obviously, many do not know this lookout point because the platform is mostly empty. It is also not signposted and many probably just do not dare to go up the stairs. There are even a few benches upstairs where you can eat your Klüvers fish sandwich with great views. I can highly recommend it.

Nice harbor with small stalls, where you can buy fresh fish in the morning. In a stall, there are the most delicious fish sandwiches in the area.

As a rescue cruiser (prefix SRK) or Seenotkreuzer (SK) the German Society for the Salvation of Shipwrecked refers to their special ships for rescue, which are staffed with professional teams and can be used on the high seas.

A small, romantic harbor where you can stroll comfortably and look at the fishing trawlers.
There is also the possibility to stop at Klüvers Fischräucherei or the adjacent cafes.
