    > Grimme monument in the village center of Assinghausen <

The monument commemorates the Westphalian homeland poet Friedrich-Wilhelm-Grimme (1827-1887), who was born in Assinghausen. The bronze portrait bust of Grimme was created by the sculptor Albert Pehle. In 1953, the monument was redesigned, the obelisk, the Westphalian rust on its top and a damaged water basin were removed. On the 17th of September 2007 the monument became 100 years old.
