The former noble family on the Hofmark Birnbach already built in 1484 a small church in the valley about 3 km southwest of Erlbach. In the second half of the 17th century there was a structural change in which the church received its present form.

Noteworthy is the design of the tower, which is unique in the wide surroundings. The church is dedicated to St. Florian and St. Nicholas. These are shown on the lateral parts of the neo-Gothic winged altar.

In the period from May to December, evening worship services in the Birnbacher Church are celebrated on the first Thursday of each month.

The church was renovated in the period from 2004 to 2008 outside and inside and shines again in new splendor.
