If a decent amount of cobblestones is not enough to justify the use of your mountain bike in the middle of the city - the historic old town of Hattingen has a few more arguments. For example, the narrow, winding streets, the historic half-timbered houses or the many small pubs and restaurants. The picturesque old town of Hattingen is worth a visit and if all this can not convince you, look at it quite pragmatically: Here's definitely something delicious to eat.

If you come by bike to Hattingen, be it on the Ruhrtalradweg or specifically as a trip, you should definitely stroll through the old town, not drive, look at the great buildings and take a break in the numerous restaurant and bistros.
The crooked steeple is the landmark of Hattingen and can be seen around the city. It is centrally located in the old town on the church square.
Also the iron house, the city wall, the iron men and the old town hall one should look at.
