In its present form, it is the third building of the Semperoper.
The first building was destroyed in a fire in 1869, the second in the air raids in February 1945.
All buildings have a digital clock (time display with changing numbers).

Vaellus

The Semperoper is the Saxon State Opera. The construction of today's opera began in 1871, and ended in 1878. During the heavy air raid the opera was heavily destroyed. The reconstruction took place from 1977- 1985. The opera was on the day of the bombing on 13.02. reopened.

Vaellus

After Gottfried Semper's first theater building from 1841 burned down in 1869, the opera was opened in its current form in 1878. After being destroyed by the air raids in 1945, the Saxon State Opera no longer had its own house until the rebuilt Semperoper was opened in 1985.
