According to Orthodox tradition, small chapels like these, colloquially called "Krynica," were built in sacred areas near springs and served as a place for anyone in need to draw "holy water." Unfortunately, the one in Zawyki is not accessible. The chapel itself, with its traditional well, is sealed shut, and the artesian well next to the building is unfortunately inoperative.
