The current town hall of De Haan is the former Grand Hotel du Coq-sur-Mer, dating from 1899, once one of the largest and most prestigious hotels on the Belgian coast. The building later became a social holiday home and has served as the town hall since 1985.
The Grand Hotel du Coq-sur-Mer was built during the height of the Belle Époque period. It is one of the largest luxury hotels in De Haan, fitting perfectly into the elegant residential district of De Concessie. Its architecture is in the typical Anglo-Norman style.

Now still in the pipeline, soon after completion the 'Pearl of De Haan'.
The iconic town hall was one of the largest hotels in De Haan at the beginning of the 20th century and was protected as a monument in 1981. That town hall, part of the protected villagescape De Concessie, is now being restored to the great satisfaction of the residents of the coastal municipality.
