The oldest mention of the church in Wadowice comes from 1325. Wadowice was then a branch of the parish in Mucharz. By the decision of the bishop of 1335, the church of Wadowice was incorporated into the parish of Woźniki.
The first church was a small wooden temple. In 1440 it burned down during the great fire of the city. A brick church was erected on its ruins in the mid-15th century. The current two-span chancel, closed with a straight wall and covered with a rib vault, comes from this period.
