West of Harpstedt in 1907 the Jew Iwan Goldschmidt acquired a plot of land of about 600 square meters. A total of eight funerals took place here between 1910 and 1937.

During the Second World War, four Eastern European forced laborers were buried in the cemetery. They are two Polish, one Yugoslav and one Russian citizen.

The cemetery was privately owned until 1979 and was then acquired by the State Association of Jewish Communities in Hanover and underwent extensive repairs. A considered transfer of the non-Jewish war dead was rejected for legal and religious reasons.
