We call "the Way of the Retreat" any of the routes followed by the exiles, both civilian and military, to cross the border in the direction of France. That is why it can be said that there were many “paths of the Retreat”, some more busy and others less so. What we point out here was one of the most important. Although the figures are not accurate, it is estimated that between 85,000 and 95,000 people crossed these peaks between January and March 1939.
