Some of the heights offer beautiful panoramic views. Display boards along the route provide information about the creation of the heath and juniper landscape. One of the highlights of the route is certainly the juniper heaths on Wiwelsberg.

Unfortunately, the juniper heaths on the Wiwelsberg are only visited briefly on the Historical Road and not walked through in detail. Nevertheless, it is nice to take a short break on the bench and let your eyes wander.
The heathland around the Wiwelsberg was bought by the Bonn local group of the Eifel Association in 1913 and placed under protection. It is one of the largest contiguous heathlands in the Eifel, covering around 30 hectares.

Caution: The old trail number 14 from the Staffelbach valley up to the juniper heath is very overgrown and disturbed by wild boars; it's best to take a wider approach.
