The village church of Stolpe was built around 1250. It is one of the oldest churches in the Mark Brandenburg and was last restored from 1994 to 2004 from scratch.

On the south wall of the church there is a walled up portal, the so-called “priest portal”, which was closed after the Reformation. It once served as a separate entrance for the clergy, who, according to the Reformation understanding, should enter the church together with the community.

Why the ⛪ wears a crown:
Queen Luise, Prussian Queen, died in Neuruppin Castle. Of course, it should be buried in the mausoleum of Charlottenburg Palace; however, the route was longer than a day tour, so the path was taken through the chestnut avenue to Stolpe.
The queen's body was laid out in the church and therefore the crown is enthroned on the church tower.
