Vaellus
The old town of Albenga is absolutely fascinating. It is laid out like a fort with very narrow streets and it stands in absolute contrast to the rest of the city. At the point where I put this highlight, there is also an incredibly delicious gelateria - you have to try that!

The image of the city is shaped by over ten slender family towers, the highest of which, the Torre del Comune, built by a noble family around 1300, is more than 60 meters high. The city has retained its medieval core. In its center, at the Piazza San Michele, the most important buildings of the city stand together in a very small space.
