Vaellus

Gramzow is the oldest documented place in the Uckermark. The Premonstratensian monastery was founded in 1178 by Duke Bogislaw of Pomerania. The monastery is a stone church built in 1235. From 1355 to 1365, there was a conversion to the three-aisled brick church with transept and choir. 1536 was the dissolution of the monastery. In 1714 the monastery church burned down. To date, only a part of the west wall has been preserved.
The historic silhouette of the monastery ruins, the landmark of Gramzow, can be seen from afar. It is located on Klosterberg.
