The Hohe Eifer in the city forest of Meissen in a south-westerly direction above the Triebisch is an elevation on which there was probably a fortification in the past. Remains of walls and ditches have been found here. Ceramics have also been excavated here. What exactly was at the site is unclear and disputed.

Even more impressive, however, is the view from the rocky cliff down into the Triebischtal valley and to the spires of Meissen Cathedral in the distance.

King Vratislav II built the Guozdeck Castle on Mount Hohe Eifer around 1088 to keep the Meißner under control. However, they didn't think so and together with the Saxons they devastated the building. To this day, some remains of the wall can still be seen on the southern edge of the mountain.
