Maasketting

This is the 1st pearl on the Maas chain of the provisional series of 4 (2 is Hedel-Ammerzoden: 3 is Ammerzoden-Well (seind): 4 is Wellseind-Nederhemert noord). Kind of weird doing 2, 3 and 4 first, I know!

But I don't know where it will end yet, that's another surprise ..... for me too.

Despite the expected rain, we still hiked a short round on our Maas chain from Hedel to Ammerzoden and back again. And gosh .... no rain!

The previous walk of the Maas chain we walked a round Hedel Ammerzoden. Today this walk starts and ends at Castle Ammersoyen and is a clog path (with a bit of ourselves). The intention this time was from Well (seind) to Nederhemert-south. But unfortunately the ferry was not in use, only by appointment (see last photo). On 11 January we closed round 4, Well-Nederhemert-north. So today it would be logical to walk from Nederhemert-Noord (with the ferry) to -south, were it not for the fact that the ferry isn't running! We walked round 5 from Nederhemert-north to -zuid. At least that was the intention if the ferry had sailed.

This round, number 6 of the Maasketting, we walk from the playground at Nederhemert and take a piece of klompenpad to Bern. There we cross the road and take the (free) Bernese ferry. On the other… Leer más

We ran our 6th round (Nederhemert-Heusden) on March 6th. Now we continue with Heusden-Hedikhuizen (round 7 of the Maas chain). I must add that most of the preparatory work has already been done by Rikit😉. Isn't it great such a fellow comooter.

The weather was beautiful today and the floodplains were virtually free of mud, so we could resume the continuation of our Maas chain. September 3 last year had been the last stage (11). And we had to wait for good weather for our 12th pearl on the chain.

Hoy continuamos nuestro camino por el Maas desde Oijen. Los planes para caminar eran en realidad en Utrecht, para caminar el último tramo del 4daagse junto con Hans, Loes y Giel. Pero desafortunadamente... Loes se lesionó.

Hoy, la ronda 15 de nuestra cadena Maas estaba en el programa, pero cuando miré afuera a las seis y media, había niebla, viento y parecía bastante frío. ¡Estarías loco si cambiaras eso por tu cálida cama!

Esta vez no en bici, sino que cogimos el coche y aparcamos cerca del ferry de Ravenstein donde empezaba la ruta.
