Georgia's Great Caucasus is a haven of many mountain adventures. It's a place steeped in tragedy, war and history—the reason why the name 'Caucasus' is known by many. In comparison, the range's little brother—the aptly named "Little Caucasus"˚—is hardly given a moment's attention. Something that makes it all the better for mountain bikers.
In comparison to the Great Caucasus, the peaks of the Little Caucasus are a little less rugged and not as high. What it lacks in summits, however, the range makes up in color, with the lonely peaks dressed in a beautiful green. And in amongst the mountains, you'll find a glorious network of bike paths that could have only been carved out by pioneering mountain bikers. Wonderfully smooth, these paths, which are often root and stone free, meander back into the lush valleys.
The zenith of Georgian mountain bike trails can be found in the Borjomi National Park, which is located to the west of the capital Tbilisi. Built with development funds from Germany and the WWF, this is a jewel that was already considered a "Sapowednik" (a protected area) in the times of the Soviet Union. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that you'll find nothing but epic untouched nature here—the perfect playground for you and your mountain bike.
For this Collection, Niko spent five days in the Little Caucasus and took a closer look at the trails. To experience this region as he did, all you have to do is follow in his tracks. Are you ready for a real adventure?

El Parque Nacional Borjomi es sin duda muy hermoso. Sin embargo, el área no está en absoluto "al margen de los turistas". Además, ni el parque ni los senderos fueron "construidos" por fondos…
