Brechfa Forest Walks

During lockdown 3.0 I decided to move to a farm in Carmarthenshire in Wales. I was volunteering and helping with a sustainable tourism project to help increase tourism to the area. Part of my role was to plan hiking routes and explore the area to promote to visitors. Brechfa Forest is a beautiful place that is less discovered and a relatively untouched part of Wales. Brechfa Forest was closed for a long period due to work being done on building a wind farm. This was fought by the local people who got the wind farm plans drastically reduced as the destruction of the forest would have been catastrophic and detrimental to the local tourism businesses and communities. This is the first non-profit community lead project of its kind to win such a case. I spent most of my days in the forest and grew to love being surrounded by trees and such beautiful and peaceful nature. It is nice to discover less trodden paths and appreciate and support such an amazing forest community.
