Walter Gropius was the founder of the Weimar Bauhaus and is considered a co-founder of modern architecture. Here you can examine one of his works, which he built during the Interbau 1957. It is not entirely typical of his style, because it is clearly "more colorful" than the usually much more functional Bauhaus style, which is why it did not quite meet the high expectations of the star architect. Nevertheless, it should have been the crowd puller of the then Interbau.

The Gropiushaus, a joint effort between the Bauhaus founder, the TAC and the Berlin architect Wils Ebert, with its south-facing concave facade forms the reception of the Interbau site. In fact, the structure is not curved, but kinked in four places.

The Walter Gropius House is a residential building with nine floors and 66 condominiums at Händelallee 1–9 in the Berlin district of Hansaviertel on the Grosser Tiergarten (Mitte district). It was designed by Walter Gropius / The Architects Collaborative (TAC) (Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA) in collaboration with Wils Ebert, Berlin, for the first International Building Exhibition ("Interbau") in 1957.
