The boundary stone between the Grand Duchy of Baden, Kirchhardt, and the Kingdom of Württemberg, Fürfeld, stands in a series of boundary stones that once separated two principalities. Number 20 is visible here; number 1 is located over there between Grombach/Treschklingen/Kirchardt.

Where we now cross the border without hindrance, the state borders were once crossed.

In many respects, this was significant at the time; for example, when prosecuting crimes, it was quite possible that one or another offense would not be prosecuted in the neighboring state.

Appropriately, the old field name is "At the Fürfeld Measuring Stick."
