    Hattingen was founded in 1396. In the 1960s, a decision was made to renovate the almost 150 medieval half-timbered houses and thus preserve the old town centre. And today is very lucky.
    Many other cities have demolished the old houses; in Hattingen you can stroll through the old streets and admire the beautiful houses.
