    The Monastery of San Jerónimo was the first monastery to be built in Granada after the conquest of the city by the Christians, and its foundation even dates from before the taking of the city by the Catholic Monarchs. In his church he was buried with his wife the Great Captain.
    The construction of the Monastery of San Jerónimo began in 1504, in the place called Almorava, which today occupies the hospital of San Juan de Dios.
