Absolutely number 1 place to visit in Ankara. Huge and well preserved Atatürk's mausoleum. Honour soldiers changing every hour or so and it's impressive on it's own. İnside there is museum with all first president belongings - wear, swords, guns, cigarette holders, porcelains , cars and so on. Battle installations with sound. Paintings and full Turkeys history with random artifacts. Photography is not aloud in museum. Entrance is free for pedestrians. Car park is inside, but how much it costs i don't know.

Kemal Atatürk decreed that he wanted to be buried in such a way that he could see the Turkish flag on the Ankara Citadel from his grave. This is why the mausoleum was created. Antique pieces found during the excavations are in the city's museums.

It is strange that influencers pose in front of the gravestone. This does not do justice to the peace of the dead. In some cases, security intervenes, as they have a lot to do, including making room for the soldiers on duty during the changing of the guard.
